Just last Friday, Marisa and I were discussing how it rarely snows here (as it rained for 14+ hours straight). And then, what happened Sunday, but snow! And not ninny snow—real snow. Real, fluffy, snowball-throwin snow. Of course, it didn't start out that way. When I got up before 7, it was just a grainy kind of snow. But soon it got good. Caleb was in Montgomery playing a Disciple Now, so I had to document the winter wonderland situation. I forgot how fun snow was! Fun for like half a day of course, before it gets muddy and frozen over. But snow doesn't have a chance to get that way here, so it was great and I was instantaneously cheery.
Yes, folks, here she is. Play in the snow? That's for hooligans. Louzie prefers napping on the couch—with a pillow and blanket of course.
I, however, had to get going since I was singing that morning at church. When I called Mom, she was horrified that I was driving in such a terrible "storm," as the weathermen were calling it. I had to remind her that I lived in Evanston for four years, and that I had walked in storms much worse than this with more than a foot of accumulated snow already on the ground. This, in comparison, was nothing. And made me feel like a kid of 18 again! (Sad that 18 actually was kind of a while ago now.)
Here, I would like to pause for a moment and reflect on how hung up my mother was on my not slipping. (Seriously, she said it a million times. Didn't you, Mom?) The reason for this is that she fell on some ice in D.C. while pregnant with me. Now, clearly you don't want pregnant people falling because it's never a good thing, but are you implying there was some damage done? Because, frankly, I think I turned out just fine. And I would also like to make another point: She was ice skating. That's right, ICE SKATING. While pregnant with me. Asking for trouble ... and then worrying about me walking on normal roads in normal shoes ... sheesh.

Hey! Congratulations on the soon to come baby boy! I haven't kept up with you guys much but I just read a year's worth of blog posts (Well, maybe I didn't read all of the posts, but I at least skimmed them all) and also checked out your shop's website (which looks great, by the way). Glad things are going well for you guys!
